This house is located in Zhigozen, Japan. Created with imagination of many Japanese architects Suppose Design Office, the house was built on the beach. Along with the sublime feeling that you are on the beach comes longstanding idea that this place is susceptible to damage from natural disasters, especially during typhoons.
If we look at the past, there are many examples of damage caused by nature such as storms or floods. Therefore it is necessary to build a house, to take account of these natural disasters, from the outset of planning. In this building, interior and exterior overflow. Space which is at the same time, terrace, veranda, indoor room and outdoor area, actively participate in this median zone between the interior and exterior. This space acts as a bridge outside. It also serves as a buffer for various natural phenomena and solve seemingly contradictory problems of “protection” and “openness” at the same time.
