Glass house

Glass houseSometime the luxury real estates are not so comfortable for living. Such example is the Glass house – this is a remarkable luxury home in Santa Barbara, California. The house was built on 3.5 acres of land dotted with oak groves. It consists of 5 bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. Interestingly in the house is that windows from floor to ceiling make it more in a glass pavilion. The five rooms has added a spacious kitchen, wine room with a collection of thousands of bottles, and picture gallery. Currently the gallery has an exhibition of … cars! Room is so spacious that accommodates 32 cars. The modern design and architecture have been taken in the interior of the house.
The house has been declared for sale at a price of 28.5 million dollars.
Really looks quite interesting in spite of the high price and really wonderful style of living in it.

Glass FantasyIn the reconstruction of the house “Ashley” in 1910 used glass panels. However, it is felt no desire to be contrary to the style of surrounding buildings, which are also architectural landmarks. Rear of the house is older and bright features on the front. Emphasis is placed on the living room, kitchen, library and some other premises. Built a new internal staircase, which connects the three floors. he interior is emphasized in black and white and added luxury audio-video system. The design of the fireplace has been preserved near the original. Glass panels make the rooms more spacious and sunny.

Gent Glass HouseI noticed this house a long time ago on the site The Style Files, but decided later to find more info and do not publish anything. Now it turns out that it is removed from the site and that nobody else has written anything about it. No information anywhere. Only able to got to the pictures and not in large size. The house is located in the Belgian city of Ghent. Occupies one room of each of the four floors of the building. So I wonder whether it is more properly be called a flat or maisonette. Interesting decision is up to the windows and lights – not on each floor. If you were three would be as light. But I think this is most strange to her. Even more strange is that all is open to the street. Jump for exhibitionist. The walls are windows and no blinds or curtains or anything. Neighbors and passersby can easily see what is going on inside. Even in the bedroom. Most likely, only the bathroom is hidden from prying eyes. Otherwise the interior is refined and comfortable. And if I were neighbors and passers-by would be a pleasure to live in the house. Parquet and only painted white walls are exactly my taste. The ceiling is a little strange so left in the transverse reba, but not bad. (more…)
