Theatricality AustraliaFor some incarnations needed artistry and finesse. Many designers seek inspiration, regardless of the size of the project. Architects from Ashton Raggatt McDougal (ARM) are the creators of the artistic center Melbourne Recital Center Theater Company and Melbourne Theater Company next door. The aim is to restore ruined southern part of Melbourne, known as Southbank, and to catch the most dynamic neighborhoods of the city. ARM achieved such glorious success with design ideas that instantly receive medals Victorian Architecture Medal for 2009, which provides for the highest achievements in architecture and urban design for the exterior and interior. Too long-standing rivalry is the Melbourne and Sydney. Now they can compete and theater halls. ARM collaborates with Arup Acoustics in order to create space with 1000 seats and 150-seat hall. Amalgamation of modern architecture and acoustic qualities makes the room “Elizabeth Murdoch” in a challenge to the senses. Classical proportions of a shoe box are taken on loan from the European concert halls, and geometric shapes are intended as nearest to the stage from anywhere.
