Swahili villaThis villa is an Irish psychiatrist who lives in London. Built in Swahili style and occupies an area of 465 m2 on a plot of 2 acres. Sits on the coast of the Kenyan island of Lamu. The place is really amazing – a beautiful sandy beach, palm trees and clear water. I hope there are not many hurricanes there. The house is a creation of designer Leslie Kenyan Dakuart that not only designs houses, but they built and furnished. According to its clients, Michael Burke and his wife, fate has sent them to her and this place. They fell in love in him and in the creations of Leslie. The villa was built in the Swahili style, characterized by balance, symmetry, simplicity and use of local materials. A career on the mainland are delivered as smooth as marble, coral blocks, which are plastered with traditional Swahili plaster – cement solution colored with ocher. Surrounded by lower house porches. The front is designed for entertainment and dinner candles / lanterns in the case of /. But those who are sleeping to be more secluded. The corridor is decorated with turtles made of the same material, which has plastered walls. The reason for this are sea turtles that come to this beach to lay their eggs. In mahogany door leading to patio with arches, colonnades and a pool with a huge emerald in the middle! At the upper level front of the house consists of a recreation area called by local baraza / meeting / with a roof of palm leaves and traditional Lamu built stone benches covered with cushions of kanga cloth and decorated with Swahili proverbs. Very luxury modern house

December 21st, 2009

Luxury HouseThis modern house, ie villa is located in Amsterdam on the island of Izhburg company of Kirsten Gabriels and James Webb. The project is in 2006 and construction completed 2008. The project is at price of 400 000, I guess euro. In designing its architects had to comply with the plan and style of the neighborhood, but as they say, and as seen by one of the third picture, literally able to break the stereotype of the others ‘vertical’ houses. Sits on the ground is free. The yard is not fenced and is a rare sight in Bulgaria – green meadow, alley and bushes and the entrance porch. And therein lies a corner table and benches, and much interest rocker. And of course, here is the entire wall French windows. Although he entered the architecture of the neighborhood, the house has its own style with, which features without imposes. When you will see those streets in Bulgaria … No need to houses are 400 000 €, but at least they are good with design features in common with and do not are one pink, one yellow, another green. I think it would fit perfectly here one billiard table in white and red. Overall, the interior is very refined. The premises are my favorite type – spacious, light and filled with the coolest mix of white walls and wooden items.

The vampires house from the Twilight movie

November 15th, 2009

Twilight houseI remember how, after watching dusk, never thought about it. The film is indifferently. It would be great if American romance takes up a small part of the plot. So my attention was drawn not so much from the film, as the house I saw in him. Namely house vampire Cullens. Aega your house! Even more impressed, and I saw Edward’s room. Immediately I decided that this is a house, which has to find more information and to publish it. I searched in the network and proved that not only I’m interested in it. In some sites there was little info, including the site of the company that built it. But then he never found time to write something. The good news is that plenty of information out in the meantime. Even an interview with Jeff Koval architect who designed it. It turns out that they are designed and built a house not for a particular client, but as project, as they call it. Ie it is built in order then to find a buyer and sell it. Were started in 2006 and in 2007 was prepared. After 2 days the market was bought by John Hawk, chief of the shoe department of Nike. After publication in the Architectural Edition family is connected Hawk Scout, shooting seeking locations for a small film called Twilight. Design a new house in the neighborhood and its construction will begin as soon as we find another vampire, “says architect Koval. Since the movie came out, architectural firms receive many letters from fans, and requests for plans of the house from all sides, such as Croatia, the Philippines, Brazil, Australia. The house, called M1, has a size 400 meters ² and is located on the border of Forest Park Portland, Oregon. Her style is modern, but with its horizontal lines, cascading levels, overhanging eaves, unconventional angles, big windows and roof with a small slope, rather reminiscent of prairie houses of Frank Lloyd Wright than today.

Nice looking Villa M2

November 4th, 2009

Villa M2Again we are on Swedish land, but this time to stay in a villa. It was called Villa M2. Fully exercised on behalf of its design – minimalist. It was built by Lindvall A & D in Malmo. The construction was completed in 2008. The design is very minimalist, clean, tight in Swedish, but very happy stylish and beautiful. Plain white walls and straight lines are diversifying from the broken structure and large windows. The front facade overlooks the lake, which has previously been a career. Swedes have a nice habit to turn the depleted quarries in lakes. Here, according to the architects was a great sight, why the huge windows are placed. This provides a large amount of light. A view from the bedroom on the second floor probably really is incredible. Would be nice to make one or two pictures, because the lake is barely visible in the picture of the canteen. The rear facade is completely devoid of unnecessary elements, as seen at the road. There are only a door and a long, low window looks like a pillbox embrasure. The door itself is large and flat, almost square. Furniture and accessories are specially designed for this house. Few enough for my taste, but may not be reached for more money as they are so special.
